Director Andrew Conte
Andrew Conte has worked as the founding director of the Point Park University’s news service since 2005.
Also an investigative reporter at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, he has covered a wide range of topics that include rising health care costs, offshore banking and the legalization of casino gambling across Pennsylvania.
Andrew has received numerous national and local awards for his reporting including the Carnegie Science Award and first-place honors from the Inland Press Association, the Association of Health Care Journalists, the Pennsylvania Associated Press Managing Editors and the Associated Press Society of Ohio. The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania has recognized Andrew with its top reporting award three times, while the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Journalists has awarded him two times with its top prize for investigative reporting.
His national best-selling sports book Breakaway tells about the behind-the-scenes dealings to keep the Penguins hockey team in Pittsburgh.
Andrew received a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College and a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
