Last Wednesday marked the National Day of Mourning for the death of former President George H.W. Bush.
Bush is the father of another former president George W. Bush and the former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush.
The day entailed a nationwide closure of all federal facilities across the country, including the US Postal Service and the stock market. But for the city of Pittsburgh, the city continued business as usual.
While the flags of government buildings remained at half-staff, the city government and buildings around the Pittsburgh area continued to function as normal. Flags will remain lowered for the next 30 days in honor of the deceased former president.
